Good legal counsel can do a lot to keep the wear and tear of a separation to a minimum. I do my best to help my clients settle matters amicably but will advocate forcefully for them in court if that is what is needed. Occasionally, you need some time in court to get the other side to want to negotiate a reasonable settlement

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2005 and obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2008. After graduation, I worked at a major Japanese law firm as a foreign legal trainee for a year before returning to Canada to article and pursue my legal career. After returning to Canada,  I also volunteered with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre.

I was called to the bar in Alberta in 2011 and have primarily practiced in family law since then. My practice includes all manner of family law issues from negotiating and drafting nuptial agreements to handling adoption applications to courtroom advocacy in both the Alberta Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench.  Besides English, I am also proficient in French and Mandarin Chinese and can consult with clients in those languages if they prefer.

Even if you are not separating or are just starting a serious relationship, I can help prevent potential turmoil down the road by proposing a nuptial agreement that is advantageous to you and is also fair to your partner.

Outside of work, I have a number of interests including hiking, rock climbing, fishing and hunting.
